Report Builder Print Problem with HP 2100TN printer

We ended up using HP Laserjet II series driver instead of HP 2100M driver
for Vantage or RB printing. It's working fine.

Am having a problem with Report Builder reports printing on an HP 2100TN LaserJet printer. The printer is networked using HP Jet Direct.

The problem is that any Report Builder reports will not print unless we push the "GO" button on the printer. This is true if we print from Vantage or directly from Report builder. Printing from any other application works okay. Also printing Crystal forms works okay also.

I have downloaded and installed the latest driver from HP, but this didn't help.

Any hints?

I'm not positive, but I think Report Builder saves printer settings per
report. You could try opening the report in Report Builder, go to Print
Properties and make sure it's not printing to manual feed. Just a thought.

We have a 2100 here that does the same thing, interfaced via either an Axis
print server or parallel cable. I never was able to make it work with the
stock drivers. But IIRC, something on HP's web site suggested it might be
a firmware bug in very early production models (which this one is.) No
cheap way to update it, unfortunately.

As a work around, try using the driver for an older HP. I think the 6P one
worked well, and has all the features.
