Report Builder Query (6.10)

Not much of a solution but I had this exact thing happen with InvcDtl a couple weeks ago. I ended up flipping InvcDtl to be the master table (a nasty process involving making an alias table for InvcDtl) and then it would allow me to link to Part. There was also a slight performance hit even after I cleaned out the extra InvcDtl link due to filter inefficiency. I would have started over except for the volume of formulas and formatting to do over.

I had never seen this before and since I was able to get around it I have not explored possible causes. Even if we stay on 6.1 for a couple more years RB will have limited utility going forward, as we gradually move over to Crystal, and there are bigger fires to fight.

Subject: [Vantage] Report Builder Query (6.10)

I've got an existing Report Builder report which joins InvcHead to InvcDtl
(inner), Invchead to Customer (inner) and InvcDtl to ProdGrup (left outer).
The report works just fine.
I want to change it to add a join from InvcDtl to Part but when I try and
make the link, the InvcDtl file doesn't show in the 'from' list of mfgsys
files.
However, if I start from scratch (i.e. a total rewrite) I can make all the
links just fine.
Does anybody have any bright ideas why I can't modify?
TIA

Regards,
Richard
