ReWork Job

In this situation, when it is determined that a rework is needed that will
not be done on the original machine site, the engineer adds a new operation
for only the rework items, we don't mess with changing the qty, just make
the comment that it is a special op for which ever parts, all of our parts
are serialized, so it's pretty simple to show which one(s) need the op.
later, the operation is closed manually.

other wise, it is very similar to Amy's reply. We don't use the DMR yet. we
have other procedures in place.

Subject: [Vantage] ReWork Job

I have the following situation that need to be addressed.

A Job has one assembly and three operations:

1) Operation 1 is completed.
2) Operation 2 is completed but %25 was nonconformance and reworkable
with differrence operation (ie. grinding)

How can I issue a re-work job that will link to the aboe job so I can

keep tracking the jobs and parts?

Thanks,

Thanks,
We generally don't create a new job, unless we are reworking parts from
stock.

This is how we handle reworking product on an open job:

1. parts are indicated as non-conforming by operator or QA

2. QA creates a DMR on the non-conforming material--works with engineering
to determine disposition of the non-conforming material, i.e. scrap,
rework, use as is. Any sort or rework instructions are added to the DMR
sheet under the "actions required" section of our form.

3. DMR and job traveler are forwarded Production Planning to add a rework
or sort operation just previous to the operation it was rejected on, with
the appropriate quantity (adjusted using the qty/parent). The operation
comments reference the DMR number for the instructions on how to rework or
sort the product.

4. The updated job traveler with the DMR form enclosed (with rework
instructions)are forwarded to production where parts are reworked or sorted
(some times we train first if the technique is new)

5. QA reinspects the product on the operation it was rejected from, and
once accepted, moves the parts from the DMR back onto the job.

6. Job proceeds as normal.
