i have seen things like this happen if people create “magical” BPMs that incorrectly modify the OrderRel table without properly modifying other tables that need modified.
I’m here looking for something similar and I tracked down the reason for it. To me it feels the way it works is very weird and broken.
For one part, our total demand is showing as 2. In the demand panel it shows an order for 40 that is Make Direct. The supply panel is showing the job that is supplying this order. When trying to track down where the demand of 2 is coming from, I found there were two orders of 1 each, and these were set as Buy to Order. I’m guessing that’s why they weren’t showing in the Demand panel.
I think this way makes no sense. Either Make Direct / Buy To Order should count as demand, and show in the demand panel, or not. If it counts, then it should show all orders regardless of make direct / buy to order and be part of the demand, so in my case it should show 42 in demand. I think this should be the proper functionality. If it doesn’t count as demand, then it should show as 0 demand and nothing in the demand panel.
The way it is now is a broken version of both. The demand qty is inaccurate because it shows one and not the other, and the demand panel is inaccurate because it shows one order that doesn’t match what the demand qty is.
