Shipment Tracking EDI

Jasper,
I did similar in a BAM, to have a shipment notification sent out when a
valid tracking number is scanned into Vantage at my last company. I did not
create the link, but with a little html code, it is posible because I
included the tracking number in the email.

If you enter the URL tracking information into Vantage correctly and you add
the tracking numbers to all the shipments. Then if you have the correct
e-mails in the Vantage customer contacts. It should be possible to write a
report or procedure that could be scheduled each night to take any shipments
that day with tracking numbers, fill in the the URL from the shipment
tracking information using the tracking number. Then pull the e-mail
address from the customer contact and send the url.

We would like the ability to send an email to our customers that has the
tracking number along with a link to the carrier so they can track the
progress of the shipment. I know UPS and other popular carriers have
services that do this but we use trucking companies instead of them. Is
there a way in vantage to do this automatically when a shipment is shipped?
Is anybody doing anything like this? Any ideas on how we could do this?
