Shop Floor Program in 5.1

Well, Just got off the phone with Epicor. Needless to say if you ever used
the shop floor program it will cease to exist in 5.1. It's great when they
just take away functionality after you buy the system and get things to work
the way you need them. AMM doesn't even give you the ability to scan
inventory tags into the system either. It's going to be a GREAT day!!
Manually keying tags in will be so much fun, anyone care to come help???

There is also the new Plant Floor.vtg icon for 5.1, which gives your shop
floor people a lot more visibility to Vantage without the need for a full
Vantage license. It uses the Data Collection license instead. It's not
very well documented, so many people have overlooked it's functionality.

Maybe it's just not installed? Don't you have to check a box during the
client install to create the icons & .VTG file for it?

Try looking in your Vantage directory for a "Shop Floor Vantage.VTG" --
if
it's there and clicking it starts it OK, then just create a shortcut on
the
workstation. If it's not, rerun the client install (you can skip the
progress part) and look for the option there.

It is now our fiscal year end tomorrow and I just noticed that after the
upgrade to 5.1 I know longer have my shop floor data collection program
available to scan inventory tags into the system. Am I SOL, or is it just
hidden some how? Let me guess, it is now part of AMM module that we have to
buy to get this feature. If so Epicor will be hearing from me. I am
getting tired of them taking away program usage for the sake of getting you
to buy other modules. They sell us on the upgrade to get our enhancements
implemented then do this type of BS. Boy am I PO'd. Enough said.

Please tell me it isn't so......

Wayne,

There is no option when you install the client and no vtg file in the
Vantage directory. The only option now is the plant floor program that only
allows for labor collection and some other functions that I'm not sure fit
the bill for what I'm looking for.
