We had a similar request to be able to track gauge usage. I created a BPM that was only active for a certain user. This would set a flag on the employee record when the log into MES. Then I created another BPM that was activated by the transfer that would find the Employee record that was flagged and would set the employees name in the comments section of the transfer.
This of course would only work correctly if it was a unique user on MES that could not be logged into from more than one location.
In regards to the part tran recording the EmpID this is incorrect. It only records the User logged into MES.

Subject: [Vantage] Single Sign On - change user in MES
Â
We would like to use Single Sign On for our MES stations. We currently have each MES station set up with a User in Epicor called MES01, MES02, etc. So, with Single Sign On, when they click on the MES icon, the MES screen will open without asking for login information and will be logged in under the MES01 user. The user name that shows up on the transactions would be MES01.
When our Material Handlers do transactions, we would like them to change the user in the MES screen to their own login information so we know who did the transaction. Note, this is not just changing the Employee on the MES screen, but actually the user that is logged into the screen.
Epicor is telling me the only way to use Single Sign On and do what we want (have the Material Handler's name associated with the transaction) is to have the users log out of Windows an then back in to change the user. This is not an option for us, as our computers are slow and this would take way too much time.
Just wondering if anyone has a better option.
Thanks,
Paula
