Solution Manager to export/import report data definitions

That's good info to know.

Someone in Epicor Tech Support told me about 6-9 months ago it was very
buggy, and implied I'd be better off doing it manually. I've not had the
guts to try it since.

I recently used it to move from Pilot to Live and it almost worked
perfectly.

For me, the issue was the RDD. It created them but they were blank. I
had to manually recreated them.

We are on 9.04.507A.

Hi,

We are struggling with report data definitions.
Lots of development, multiple test servers.
We have been manually rebuilding report data definitions.

I see E9 has a new Solution Manager for export/import.
Anybody out there have experience with this?

Thanks

Yes it is freaking bad ass! You select all your BPM's , RDD, and
Customizations it puts them in a cab file you can import into your other
instances automatically.

Don't do from Version X to Version Y it works but it may be buggy. Also if
you licencing isn't 100% on both instances it will drop some stuff. But
worked great for us :)
If you do need to do two different versions make sure you change the version
number on the solution manager to match the version you are going to install
on.

It won't copy the customized menus I believe and it won't turn on
customizations automatically it will simply install them.
