Would it be possible to link an SSRS report with the company logo picture file that is stored in a shared server location or does it need to be stored on the reporting server location? This is so that whenever the company logo changes in the shared location, the reports will all be updated automatically.
Hi @cchang ,
I have not done this so no practical work experience with this kind of situation however as far as I know there shouldn’t be any problem eitherway unless the permissions somehow get in the way.
Since Epicor’s task agent runs the report, you would look into limits of its permissions normally.
Also if I were in your shoes, I would quickly install Report Builder on the server and run a sample report top get a relatively realistic experience.
It can be on a shared server location as long as the Epicor system has read access to this location. You could even go as far to setup separate folders for each company in that shared location and use the Epicor company ID as the company folder names. This way you can use this server path in SSRS by appending the Company ID to the root folder. For example \storage\Logo\ABC where ABC is the ID of your company. We used this method to setup a single POForm report style that prints in each of our 9 companies, all with a different logo. Just remember it needs to be the UNC path and not the network driver letter.
