SSRS in 10.2.300 Error (Object reference not set to an instance of an object.)

Has anyone else seen the following behavior in 10.2.300: SSRS reports including AR Invoice Form and PO Form throw “An unexpected error occurred in Report Processing. (rsInternalError) Object reference not set to an instance of an object.” when the report has more than one detail line and is run from report builder or SSRS web page? I am able to duplicate in the education environment with invoice 10194 in company Epic06.

  1. Open Education environment 10.2.300.7
  2. Log in as user epicor
  3. From company EPIC06, open A/R Invoice Tracker
  4. Find invoice number 10194 (or any invoice that has more than one line)
  5. Select print preview and extend the Archive Period to Week
  6. Wait for invoice to finish generation and close report
  7. Go to System Monitor and locate the GUID
  8. Navigate to Reporting Services web page and find the base ARInvoiceForm report (under ARInvoiceForm/ARForm).
  9. Run the report for the GUID found in step 7. The error occurs

Are there any details in error?

When running through SSRS, the error log indicates:

Can someone who modifies SSRS reports verify if this is an issue? We are being told by support that they cannot duplicate but the tech has been very difficult to work with since the beginning and I’m not sure I trust what he’s telling me. Any input is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Tanner

Although I’ve submitted the case to Epicor support, they say they cannot reproduce and is an issue in my environment. If anyone would have time to verify if they can reproduce the error, it would be greatly appreciated so I can figure out if it’s environmental.

Thanks,
Tanner

Check with support what version they are testing on. I have found sometimes they are testing on the latest version and you may not be.

Demand a WEB Ex and escalate the ticket. I do that all the time when they say they can’t reproduce it. Once I show them they are like “oh”

The support person got on my computer and saw it. He told me he cannot reproduce on his end but will not let me see his screen to observe it happening. He also told me he’s tested it on multiple versions including 10.2.300.7 (the version we see it happening on). It is also happening on 10.2.300.8.

UGH…Frustrating. Have you escalated the ticket?

Yes I’ve escalated it. Are you on 10.2.300?

yes 10.2.300.5 going to .8 this week.

I have had issues similar but i usually just keep pasting the GUID in until works.

Have you modified much or regent he GUID after making a change.

When you have a minute, would you be able to confirm if you are seeing the same issue?

Thanks,
Tanner

@aidacra Would you be able to review the details of this as it appears to be reproducible outside our environment? Case # is 1234211.

Thanks,
Tanner

@aidacra I worked with @T11 and was able to replicate their issue in my environment.
