Subcontract material - Enhancement Request 19366MPS

Paul,

Please join me on my enhancement request to add any material under
the subcontract operation to print on the Subcontract Packing Slip.

Problem:
Subcontract and packing slip.

They send out additional
material that is linked to the outside operation.
This does
not print on the Packing Slip.

Material does not print on
the Packing Slip.

Packing Slip just says the Part Code that
is being sent out.

This problem is a bit frustrating because it takes to much time. We
sub-contract some of our assemblies, we also supply material in some cases.
The material we are supplying is entered as a misc packing slip. This
requires someone entering line-by-line part numbers and quantities, very
time consuming depending on the amount of material we are supplying. Is
anyone else supplying material and if so how do you handle supplied material
for a subcontract assembly? We are currently using vantage 6.0, thank you in
advance for any help provided.

Why don't you use a subcontract packing slip?

We set these up as manufactured parts in our system.

The Method of Manufacturing is very short--Material Op 10 with the material
we are sending out, Operation 10 Outside Service (Subcontract) then Op 20
Receive to stock.

So the subcontractor gets the material with the Outside Service Purchase
Order.

It might be a few extra steps (creating a traveler, etc.), but it then
follows a process that our folks are familiar with and doesn't take any
extra prompting or manual operations. Basically, it's no different than
sending parts out for plating or something simple like that...
