"Suggestions for warehouse" for Manufactured Part

Hi all,

I’m having a problem where a sales order entered against a manufactured part, instead of generating a planned jobs Time phase is giving me “suggestions for warehouse” instead. Since this part is a top-level part, this stops the demand from flowing down to the components level.

I checked all of the settings on the part master to ensure the part is “manufactured” (both on Part and Sites). I also check the Sale Order and everything seems fine. I re-ran the net change MRP as well but still no luck.

Any pointer is appreciated!

Is there a valid, approved Part Revision? If there is not, Epicor cannot create a job suggestion.

Hey Ernie,

Yes there is one approved method.

Is that Revision listed on the Sales Order (it ought to be), and can you create a job manually using that Revision?

Hi Ernie,

Yes, I was able to create a job and verified that the Sale Order does indeed ask for the same revision.

In that job shell you created, uncheck the Engineered and Released checkboxes, then go to Actions > Job > Get Details.

Hi Dan,

do you have MRP checked on the PartPlant record?

Oh my god Ernie you’re a genius. One of the materials was inactive that’s what stopped Epicor from creating the job using that “approved” method. Thank you very much for the pointer!

You can also use planning workbench to clear out any warehouse suggestions you are seeing for demand that the system should be generating. You will have to wait for a MRP run to see the jobs generate and if they do not then you most likely do not have a box checked on the part.
