Two Part Numbers with One Customer Cross Reference?

Example.
Part 10.00001.00 is being modified to 10.00001.01 (note the last two numbers…). However, the customer part number stays the same. How can I achieve this?

When I add the new item to Customer Part Cross Reference - i get an error, saying
“A reference for that customer part number already exists on part number 10.00001.00”

I want to be able to supply the .00 or .01 at the same time. In other words, either .00 or .01 will satisfy the customer requirements.

What can I do?

Hi, have you thought about using Part Alternative under Part Maintenance?
