Understanding License Inquiry

From Epicor:

License inquiry  - admin tools

PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:

what does the assigned license number in the license inquiry screen mean?

this number is changing

assigned licenses: 36

reusable licenses: 28

available licenses: 32

RESOLUTION:

Assigned license: number of licenses in use (you can see the maintain sessions to count the number of users connected)

reusable licenses: inactive sessions.

the license has timed out. This happens whenever a user has been inactive for the length of their timeout (by default 15 minutes). A license will be reusable only while its session is inactive, as soon as there is some activity, the timeout is reset again.

available licenses: number of users that can connect: example:

36 users connected (assigned)

28 inactive users (reusable)

40 user licenses

available licenses= 40-36+28 = 32

= number of user licenses- assigned licenses+reusable licenses

I have this same question and I see the responses so far for this topic are "good luck" for someone leaving the group...

When I look at the License Inquiry screen in the Admin Tools, I see
three numbers:

Assigned Licenses

Reusable Licenses

Available Licenses

Can someone explain these three categories?

Thank you to the group for all the great help you gave me over the past year. I am unsubscribing from the group messages because I was laid off from my job last month.

This group enabled me to help my co-workers with their work immensely. Thank you.

Lynn
Good luck to you!

Hi All,

I'm trying to determine actual license usage to licenses purchased.

When I look at the License Inquiry screen in the Admin Tools, I see
three numbers:

Assigned Licenses

Reusable Licenses

Available Licenses

Can someone explain these three categories?

Is the Available Licenses what I'm concerned with for my comparison?

Can someone explain these three categories?

Assigned Licenses – Licenses that are assigned and actively in use by a user that has no timed out.

Reusable Licenses – A license that was assigned and used by a user until they timed out, min 15 minutes and set on the user’s properties page under security.

Available Licenses – Licenses that are free and have not been used since the system started, or were released when a user logged out.
