Download the Epicor Migration Guide from 9 to 10. They have very detailed steps for the migration. It’s pretty slick

Subject: [Vantage] Upgrade to E10
We are looking to moving to Epicor 10 from Epcior 9.05.702a. We are currently on SQL db but want to eliminate the progress part.
Should be install fresh and restore DB or do we upgrade from 9.05.702a?
What have others done? What is the best way?
Thanks Kim
My 2 cents…. If you had been on Vantage for a long time and then E9 it could be an excellent opportunity to reorganize the coding schemes for resources, groups, bins, customer codes, part codes, etc… and DMT in just newer more relevant data to a clean DB. Smaller DB, faster performance. DMT is a pretty slick tool and worth having after re-implementing. It’s more work to do all this than conversion but there are a lot of benefits and it’s sort of a “one time†opportunity. Worth considering.
