V8 and Terminal Services

Convert to Courier New to see it better. One caveat... this is v6 usage. v8
has more powerful ways of interfacing. For example, we'll probably develop a
dashboard for engineers where their PO's and Jobs come up. From there, they
can right-click to the PO/Job. So the memory usage will be different..

To those of you running and experimenting with V8

What are you seeing when you run V8 on Terminal Services ? With the
high spec for clients, I'm considering going strictly with Terminal
Services for V8. What are you seeing as a cost per user on the server ?
Average apps only use approximately 20 mb memory per user. How does V8
compare with it's requirement of 1 GB ram for a client ?

Any info would be helpful. I think $75 for a TS CAL will be a bunch
cheaper than replacing fifty computers in my case.

In Feb '05 on Patch 8.0.613, we calculated 5 gig ram required for 18 full
and 5 DC licenses on TS. The Vantage forms varied from 167kb to 327kb per
user depending on how many forms were open. We're now up to 21 licenses so
maybe 6 gig.

Epicor says TS isn't needed because of the smart, thin .Net client with
minimal network traffic. But we have 250 people share those 21 licenses.
Much easier to manage 1 TS then 250 PC's.

At some point, you'd go to multiple TS's, each crossover-cabled to Vantage
Server.

But we're not Live yet. Maybe the Live companies can enlighten us?

Chris
What would be your calc's for 120 users with 90 licenses (69 full,
22 DC). I always have a minimum of 65 logged in.
