Vantage 6.1 - material marked for backflush - is not updating on

Well we do both (backflush material and labor) and this has worked
without issue for us, but you could be right because we account for
material and labor only when we ship the parts out the door. So I am
not sure how it would work with your scenario...sorry...

I believe that is 1 method - if you wanted all material on job to be
issued complete....

However, if you issue so many at a time - maybe job is running over
days/weeks, and you want material issued as used....you can set the
backflush flag in the part master part record (of the material) which
sets the flag by default in the job....Then it's supposed to backflush
the material as labor is reported against the related operation....

I'm wondering if I need an Advance Material Module or something to make
this work.....

Do you have the material related to an operation? It needs to be related to the operation where you want it backflushed from in order for it to work.

Is it possible this is not updated 'on the fly' - and a process is run at some point updating backflush material?

Material is related to the operation - the same operation where labor is reported...I set the flag - operator entered labor - I checked the transaction history for the part - no history of stock to material and on hand quantity remained....

3 days later - checked again - I see the labor entry reported 2 days later DID post a transaction of stock to material! Why wouldn't it have picked up the previous day (or two) when I set the flag? Maybe because the labor when entered (just after I set the flag) was entered for the previous day's work with the previous day's date (before I set the flag)? I need to know if I can comfortably rely on this.

When do you close / complete your jobs? In the process of job closing
there is a backflush check box. When that is checked is when everything
backflushes (at least in version 8). IS that available in 6.1?

Although the Labor Entry action is what will cause it to backflush,
there are a number of other triggers that pass this through to cause the
material to be issued. These include simply looking at the job via Job
Tracker or Production Detail Report, for this job.

Ie step 1 Labor Entry > step 2 trigger it somehow (eg view in Job
Tracker)
