Well it would allow you to buy your 8.0 64bit server and continue
running 6.1 on it until you could go to 8.

This would negate the reason for running the 64 bit operating system. A
32
bit OS can only access so much system memory.

at least the client portion.
Have you tried to do anything by running a virtual machine on these
stations
with Vantage running under that? You could try Microsoft's Virtual PC
(it
is now free) or go with something like Parallels for PC or any of the
VMWare
products. What you would be doing is running a 32 bit version of Windows
inside of the 64 bit version. Make sure that you pay attention to the
licensing issues associated with virtual machines.

John,
6.1 as far as I have tried will not work on an x64 Operating System,
at least the client portion.
I run 2 CAD/CAM machines with Dessault Systems CATIA and they require
Windows XP x64 and I have been unsuccessful in installing the Vantage
client on them.
As far as Vantage 8 goes, I am running 8.03.404 with no problems on
x64 Server and x64 Windows XP.
Hope this helps!!
