Crystal printing issue on one computer

What version of Vantage & Crystal Reports are you using.

If you are on 6.1 & Crystal 8.5, make sure you have applied all the
patches to the full version of Crystal. There is a know issue when
there is a full version of Crystal installed on a workstation that the
basic install version of Crystal 8.5 will cause problems when printing
from Vantage on that workstation.

We're on 8.03.403B and it of course runs Progress 10.1B. The problem
is with 10.1B the SQL Explorer tool is gone.

I've tried getting the 10.0B explorer tool connected but it fails.
I've tried creating ODBC connections and no application is able to open
the connection - even though the test button within Windows to the
connection returns a successful test.

Anyone come up with a way to make the connection and do sql queries and
write statements?
I have taken over the responsibilities for the controller who is no longer
with us. I am trying to enter an adjustment in GL to cover 3 manual checks
that have been written in January 2008. We have not closed our year for 2007
yet. I am getting an message that says that I am entering an adjustment that
will affect prior years and do I still want to do this. What exactly does
that mean? Thanks for any help you can give.

Mary most likely it is because as far as the system is concerned the
earliest open year or period is 2007, not 2008. The system is aware that
it is currently 2008 and it is merely saying you are posting a GJE to a
period other than the current one 2007. It doesn't sound like it is
anything uncommon. A message similar to this will display each time you
post a GJE in this fashion. If you are sure about the transaction and
the period you want it to post, then it seems safe to post it.

Just a thought, but wouldn't you want to enter the manual checks through the AP module...A/P Payment Entry? If you enter manual checks directly into the GL via a GJE, then they will not appear as an item on the system Bank Reconciliation.

Claudia,

So this will show that this is a manual check and I will not need to make
individual GL entries to Cash and A/P?

I did a Google search and found this. I haven't had to use it yet since
we are still on 10a but I will be convreting soon

http://squirrel-sql.sourceforge.net/

It is freeware and is supposed to work as the SQL Explorer tool did.

Hope this helps

We have a user who has Crystal Reports/license on her computer. She can
print all the Progress forms but when she tries to print some modified
Crystal Reports it will not print from her computer. The same reports can be
printed from other computers. Our technical team has contacted the people in
Crystal at Epicor and has followed all the steps. This just will not work.
Has anyone had a similar problem? Or are there any suggestions to help fix
this issue? Thanks in advance for any help you can give.

I have the same problem. My personal workaround is just to use Vantage via Citrix so I don't have to worry about the Epicor runtime bumping up against the standard Crystal runtime.
