Vantage 8.03.40x and Windows Server 2008 64 bit

I asked the question to one of the tech support staff and they said the QA people are still testing 2008, but did not say anything about making the PET work, only that it didn't...
It is interesting that the Progress website indicates Open Edge 101.B is supported on 2008 server.

Guess it's still 2003 for now.

Subject: [Vantage] Re: Vantage 8.03.40x and Windows Server 2008 64 bit

I have tried twice to install vantage 8.03.40x on server 2008 - it
installs and runs but the progress explorer tool that sets up all
your settings will not run on server 2008 - i posted a question to
this group concerning that and did not receive any replies.

I would not recommend server 2008 based upon that issue - YMMV

anyone else??

I am looking to upgrade my Vantage Server. I want to obtain Windows
Server Standard 64 bit version so I can utilize more memory. I need to
know if I should stick with the 2003 Server or if I can go with the
2008 Server. I do not want to invest in 5 year old software unless
abosolutely necessary. Is anyone currently using 2008 Server and/or 64
bit and if so, are there any issues with either the 64 bit or the 2008
server?

Any help and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
