To resolve this please follow the below steps,
Login into your database and follow the following steps,
1.      Connect to the appropriate database(i.e. test/live/train/pilot).
2.      Select the table.
3.      Select the name of the field which is generating the error.
4.      Look for the default field width & increase the field width or enter the maximum value.
5.      Save & exit from the database.
Â
Now refresh your odbc report & it should display the comment text without any error. Let me know if you need any further information.
Â
Thanks,
Doma Reddy.

We have a crystal report that is trying to retrieve a commenttext field that contains over 2,000 characters. The report errors out with an error message stating the column has exceeding its max length or precision.
I have searched and searched...is there a work around for this problem?
Thanks
Clinton
