I had two identical machines. DELL Optiplex GX300 running Windows 2000.
One would run Vantage like a champ... no problems. The other would lockup
and took forever to load Vantage. The only difference was the fast one had
SP2 and the slow one had SP4. I did a reload of the SP4 machine and loaded
it with SP2. I still had the same problems??? I finally decided to disable
the onboard Network and installed a new Network card in the machine having
problems. That did the trick.

Funny you should mention this. I have an old W2K machine with SP4
(clean install) that is also having lockups....all my other W2K SP4
machines are fine. This particular machine is handling the Data
Collection and was supposed to replace my W98 Data Collection terminal.
I did a RAM check and found nothing, I also replaced the hard drive and
was still having problems so I switched back to the W98 machine due to
all the lockups. I still need to look at this machine in detail.

We are still working with the Vantage 6.0 training account.
I've had the client lock up a few times over the past week.
I'm running Windows 2K SP4.
Just wondering what others experience is with clients locking up.
Thanks,
Bruce
