Hey Jeff, Here's a pep talk. "You can do it if you try, you can do it!"
Doing my first upgrade (3.0 to 5.0) was a challenge to my nervous system until I read all the documents carefully (from Epicor and other users) and then did a walk-through on a test database that I knew didn't matter if I screwed up. Once I did it the first time and it worked, it was much less stressful and I knew it wasn't going to be a problem. If you are moving from 5.0 to 5.1 it should be significantly easier since there are virutually no reports to change or modify.
Give it a chance and see what you can do.
Epicor will give you all the phone support you need at no (extra) charge. That's what the maintenance fees are for (partially).
Troy

Subject: [Vantage] Vantage Documentation
Does anyone else feel like they are having there money sucked out of them
by Vantage?
I go to do an upgrade to 5.1 and after talking to Vantage I will need to buy pre-consulting
to prepare for the upgrade and then post consulting to make sure we have it running correctly and that
the new procedures are done correctly.
Five thousand dollars every time I upgrade? (of course this is on top of a $25,000.00 maintenance fee)
Oh you don't have to upgrade but if your down two rev. levels we don't support your software anymore.
Ooooo I am so upset!
