Wanted - A Clever emailing solution for Vantage Version 8 - Any

I use a command line emailer (Blat) to autmoatically send emails for
automated reports. What makes Blat so nice to use, is that it can be
configured to use text files as inputs for the subject line, the body,
the email recipients and even a list of attachments.

You could use this program with another custom utility which would
monitor a directory structure for files which have been placed there for
distribution. Each customer folder would have a subfolder which
contains all of the email setup information for that customer. If the
program detected files in that customer folder, it would read the setup
and email the files in that folder.

So all your client would have to do is drag/drop or save files directly
to the email folder (like an outbox). This outgoing que would perhaps
wait until the folder showed no changes in XYZ amount of minutes.

Vantage can be tapped via ODBC from VBA code or from a custom
application. It wouldn't be difficult to design a query and application
which pulled the contact email address.



I am curious, how many different customers does your client anticipate
needing folders like this for? How often would they use something like
this?



BTW, we will begin testing Vantage 8 sometime later this year.

My client wants to be able to create a PO with say 3 lines for different
parts, and each part may have 3 documents (as attachments on the part
master NOT on the PO).

They want to be able to email the PO and all (or some) of the
attachments with as few clicks as possible and preferably automatically
get the email address from the supplier master/contact.
