Care to elaborate on that last sentence? We don't have any custom
setups or specific requirements and we're suffering greatly.

We are new to emanufacturing. We started testing with 4.0 and decided
to move to 5.o due to some enhancements. I would like to know
whether we as a company would be better to begin with 4.0 and go live
and then upgrade to 5.0 after all these bugs are fixed? I am also
wondering if there is a list that would tell me the differences
between version 4 and version 5. Any help would be immensely
appreciated. Thanks.
There was a document in the file download area called "What's New in 5.0". I don't see it now, so someone must have removed it. I'm not sure if I should be distributing it, but I can email it to you directly if you like.

*Remove "nospam-" to email me.

Since you are new to Vantage I would suggest that you start with version
5.0. There are enough enhancements that outweigh any of the minor "bugs"
that you might encounter. We have several clients that we have upgraded and
they are very pleased with how version 5.0 is working with very little
problems. We have done several version 3.0 to 4.0 to 5.0 all in two days
time and they are working fine. Keep watch on the Vantage web site for
patches and you should be ok. Most of the so-called "major bugs" are
usually due to very specific requirements or custom setups that most Vantage
users won't have to worry about.
Please understand that it is not "Bug free", but with 18 plus years of IT
and ERP systems experience, I do believe it is important to stay with
current revisions.
It will benefit your company in the long run. Give me a call if you have
any other concerns.

Thanks,
