XP Service Pack 2

We have 24 XP Pro Machines running SP2. I had to give users rights to
the register and enable Vantage in the firewall.

a Win2K machine and it is fine.

I am running Vantage 6.1 on SP2 with the firewall disabled. I have noticed
a couple network management functions that I can't do anymore (like run the
domain user manager from the NT server on my workstation to manage the
domain users), but without the firewall, I have not seen any major problems
with Vantage. I can't say if speed is an issue, because it wasn't fast
before, and I am still working on the network to improve speed. I know
Progress won't certify anything below 9.1D09 for SP2, but Epicor won't
certify 09 for Vantage due to other issues. I have been able to use CR but
I installed that and it's patches after SP2 so that might make a difference.
Anyway, I won't go so far as to recommend it, but I won't call it
non-functional either.

I installed SP2 a few weeks after it came out on all of my pc's, around 75.
The only problems I've had are with large Excel files trying to access a NAS
device. No problems with SP2 uninstalled and this is only on 2 or 3 pc's,
not all.
I'm on Vantage 4.0 and it works fine, I'm in the process of upgrading to 6.1
and it seems to work fine in a test environment. Any problems with SP2 are
probably associated with the firewall and it can be disabled or an exception
added for that app.
