I am in the process of upgrading to 10.2 and am having some issues.
during the database upgrade i got a bunch of errors like so.
Error Upgrade Process ModifySysUserFile.sql Schema change failed on object ‘[Ice].[SysUserFile]’. Possibly due to active snapshot or other schema change activity.
We disabled the backups and that reduced the errors to a point where we could at least get the db upgraded. However I am now trying to upgrade the App server and i get an unhandled exception when I select a binding for tcp.net end point binding while trying to register an existing app server. If i click continue the mouse clock events stop working.
From what I hear, people have to delete their app servers and create them from scratch instead of upgrading them. Support claims that upgrading between patch levels (600.9 to 600.10) is fine, but you should remove them entirely and recreate them with the same name when doing major upgrades.
Upgrades are recommended to be done on a separate system (preferably a VM) that is pre-installed with Epicor version that you want to be upgrading to and just restore the database from previous version of Epicor to this upgrade VM, thereafter follow the Epicor’s upgrade guide. You will not face such issues of uninstalling and reinstalling application server, task agent, extensions etc.
