FYI - In case anyone cares. Schema change finished. Took a bit over 4 hours. I hope there are no further problems because support is long gone. 5 hours of availability is a bit short when a major part of the process takes almost that long.

Just curious and mostly for the other weekend upgraders out there (Monday will be too late).....
The 6.0 schema change process - how long did it take for you? Plus what DB size roughly and server power? I've had it running for a couple hours now on our 800MB DB (on Xeon 550 server with 1gb mem) and for the last hour there has been no new status messages. The disk lights are blinking but not nearly as much as earlier in the process. I don't recall it taking this long the first time I tried it back in January.
Any hints at how long this takes would be appreciated. Support ends in about 40 minutes and I would really like to have them available when I try 6.0 from a client PC. Last time I had all sorts of strange problems with clients and abandoned the whole upgrade.
Thanks,

My thanks to Michael Benedict off-list for suggesting looking at the log file modified date to see if progress was being made. It shows the same time as the last time stamp in the Change Schema screen. But while looking at this I noticed the Mfgsys.B1 file is growing and being written to almost constantly. The modified time just about always equals the current time. Anyone know for sure if this is a good indication that things are still running. It has been going for over three hours now. The B1 file has grown to 80Mb out of the 800mb for the D1. Anyone recall how big a percent of their D1 the B1 got to be?
At least now I can watch for a change in the log file modified time from my office rather than camp out in the server room to see if it is done yet.
