8.03.408B Printing Issues

Yep... a complete Dump and Load of the database. When the system starts
to gradually get slower and slower then I perform a Dump and Load.

Thanks Blake,

You mean a "dump and load" of all the system reports?

Since upgrading to version 408B we've had some unusual behavior printing
in Vantage. Mainly Pack Slips but Invoices and Purchase Orders are
affected as well. The first problem is that the two users who print
Pack Slips will occasionally receive errors while printing which makes
them exit our of Vantage. The error numbers are (7224) (7249) (7209).
Vantage says that the errors numbers reflect connectivity issues but
I've installed a sniffer and everything looks fine. The other printing
issue that we experience is that when submitting Pack Slips to print it
will take an extremely long time to get them to print out. Then we'll
wait 5-10 minutes in between each Pack Slip. This never happened before
upgrading to 408B. I noticed that if you look at the system monitor the
print request is in the History tab as "Complete" but doesn't show up in
Reports or Active tabs. Has anyone else had an issue like this or know
what might be causing these problems??

Not really, it kind of just went away. We performed a Dump & Load which
seemed to make these errors/problems happen less frequently. We also
discovered that most of our Crystal Reports were written with Crystal 10
but Vantage 8.03.400 and beyond uses Crystal 11 for their reports. Once
we opened all of our reports in Crystal 11 and resaved them printing
seemed to work a lot better. Not sure if any of this fixed the problem
but it doesn't seem to be happening anymore. As crazy as that may
sound....

Thanks Blake,

You mean a "dump and load" of all the system reports?
