9.05.700B - MfgSys.exe has stopped working error after login

For my issue, the "MfgSys.exe has stopped working" error was happening only for one specific user, no matter which computer it was on.  Any other user could log in to Epicor fine.  In this case it happened to be a rogue main menu personalization that was causing the error. What fixed our issue was to use Utilities->Personalization Purge to purge the offending personalization.  In the Personalization Purge window I searched for that particular user's Personalizations and clicked Select All to pull in all of their personalizations.  Then in the List view I sorted by Last Updated to see which were changed most recently.  Then I started at the top and started purging the most recently changed ones.  In my case I only had to delete the two most recent ones (Type=MainMenuHistory and MainMenuLayout).

We're having this issue on 2 users computers. Right after logging in, we get a "MfgSys.exe has stopped working" error. The only option on the error message is close program. If we move the error message to the side, we are able to continue using Epicor without any issues but the error message must remain open. I've uninstalled and reinstalled Epicor on both of these machines and wiped out everything I could think of that would be Epicor related in the process.

Any ideas? I don't really want to have to reimage the machines to get this resolved and I would hope this issue could be resolved in some other way.

Thanks,

We've had something that sounds similar and used these steps to fix it.

1. Right click Epicor shortcut, properties, change to XP compatibility
2. Delete ProgramData/Epicor folder
3. Start Epicor
4. Close Epicor
5. Change compatibility back to normal
6. Start Epicor

Try the following:

Open the command prompt and do the following:

cd C:\Users\'UserName'\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\CLR Security
Config\v2.0.50727.312

Del security.config.cch

cd C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\CONFIG

Del *.cch

Then try and get into E9 again - this has worked for me in the past

Like Bill said, that works for me... I actually took it a step further and
created a BAT file on the user's machine and put a shortcut to it on their
desktop.

BAT file:

rem BAT FILE TO FIX MFGSYS

REM

cd C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\CLR Security
Config\v2.0.50727.312

del security.config.cch

cd C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\CONFIG

del *.cch
