Hi,
I need to configure security in Epicor Kinetic so that only a specific group of users can edit Part files within the Part Maintenance screen. All other users should be able to open and view the Part Maintenance screen, but they must not be able to edit or save any changes.
Ive created a group that can have the editing rights, but I’m unsure of the next step.
Any help and advice would be appreciated.
There is already this ability built in through Part Tracker, assign the group/users who need to edit the ability to use Part Entry and the read only users, Part Tracker.
okay thank you for the information. what about removing editing rights to suppliers price lists?
You could probably make your own Tracker version by duplicating the menu item and setting the new one to be read only in Menu Maintenance. Alternatively you could create a dashboard that pulls in the information. I have not personally done either so I am going off of assumptions on how the system normally works as for us, SPL is limited to those who can edit it and we do not require a RO version.)
if you’re using the browser client that’s exactly right, the “readonly” checkbox is the only difference in configuration other than the description text.
