Help with Security Groups permissions

Hi Can someone advise me on some security setup please.

I have a user who is like a kid in a sweet shop. Going into everything trying to change item setups, prices, approved suppliers and more…

He simply needs access to create Purchase orders,

How can I lock his user down to simply only purchase order entry and nothing else?

I have created a group for him and tried to deny every other menu but some of them I cannot deny and unless the entire purchasing tree is allowed I cant seem to be able to give him PO entry and not everything in that tree.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in Advance

I’m on Kinetic but the permissions issue likely has to work the same for you. Grant access to all the ones in blue and then grant the individual ones off that Gen Ops menu that you want him to have.

Im on Kinetic as well. However I cant seem to edit the permissions for the later groups.

I have created a security group

I have menu maintenance open on one window to find the name of the Security ID for the menu items I need.

I can allow or deny them for
Material Management
Purchase Management

However everything is greyed out for General options and everything inside it.

I also have the same issue with Executive Analysis and Services Management. They wont let me change the allow\disallow.

As you can see in the below screen shot this is for the General Options Menu item. The Facilities security group is the one I need to ammend however they are all greyed out and wont change from default.

I do notice the default access is to allow which is also greyed out. Perhaps this is my issue?

That’s odd…if General Ops is allowed by default then you might have to disallow the individual menu items underneath for that Facilities group code?

At the menu level, go to the Overflow menu (three horizontal dots in the upper right) and select “Copy to Current Company”. Once you do that the fields will open for input. You’ll need to do that on each menu you want to change access to.

I’ve only tweaked security - haven’t added new groups etc - so maybe I’m only seeing a partial picture.

yes looks like the security group cannot be changed for that menu item.

see below the one for the purchase management node and then undernearth the one for general management (open in classic view)

I have now also tried to create a new security ID but it also wont let me assign it to the menu.

I will try Ernies suggestion now of copy to current company and let you know how I get on

hmmmm that feels like im getting closer.

Copied the menu to the current company. Then it allowed me to change the security group to the test group I created.

However the original menu item is still present and wont let me uncheck disabled or remove it or delete is so I have both menus.

below is the old menu screenshot followed by the new menu screenshot.

on that classic screen you’re on, go to the Security tab. The “Copy to Current Company” option is under the Actions menu here.
