Ampersand in Customization Epilabel?

The & in the label is a long-standing User Interface technique. The
ampersand indicates the letter that becomes a "quick key" to the
field. You may have noticed that you saw CRD with an underline under
the D. You could then jump to the field by pressing ALT+D If there is
more than one underline D then it goes to the first occurrence and the
next ALT-D would take you to the next one, etc.

So there's nothing for Epicor to fix. This is by design going back a
long, long time.

I'm adding a ShortChar field to the Part Maintenance screen. No big deal, it goes really easy. The problem occurs when I try to create the label. I want the label to read "Orig CR&D PN:", because when we quote parts we use a "CR&D" prefix (probably short for "Customer Research & Development" but nobody knows for sure, it's lost in the sands of time). Now that we have Epicor, management would like to see which quotes turn into production parts. We'll often do two or three jobs on a typical CR&D part to get the customer happy and nail down the methods, so we can't use the Quote conversion process very well.

I can't get the field label to accept the "&" character. It just ignores it completely. When I put "CR&D", all that shows is "CRD". I've tried using HTML, ASCII, Unicode, any kind of escape character I can think of, to no avail.

Epicor is probably not going to grind to a halt to fix this, but I do have a call in. Anybody have any ideas?

I figured it out... you have to double the character. "&&" in the input field displays as "&".
