Any tricks to getting crystal rpts to display for 10.1.400?

I am currently working on moving our existing Crystal Reports (E9.05.702) to 10.1.400.11.

Here is what I have noticed so far :

- Crystal Reports (.rpt) needs to be in Epicor Data/CustomReports
  E9 location Epicor905/Server/Reports/CustomReports

- reports using base RDD, place rpt file in CustomReports folder, no additional changes needed
- reports usingduplicated RDD with no UD tables - place rpt file in customreports folder - print preview the report - take the xml file from EpicorData/Reports and open in Crystal Reports CR Developer to update database links.  Preview report, save and place new rpt file in custom reports folder and the report runs correctly
- reports using duplicated RDD and fields from UD tables will need a little bit more work to point to the ice tables instead of the erp tables to find the UD fields.

Xml generates. Vague error in report tab(provides no detail) nothing in the server log, nothing in event viewer, history shows complete no error, never pops up.  I have the custom report folder in \\Server\EpicorData\CustomReports

thanks

Hi Rob,
Crystal report must be under server/reports folder and not under CustomReports. It looks like Epicor modified the logic.

Rob,

The files should be in \\<Server>\EpicorData\CustomReports\<file name.rpt>

Are you getting the Crystal window to popup?  You can also try opening the System Monitor, highlight the report line, then click on Actions > Download Report Data.  That might give you more information.  If it can't find the file, it will tell you that.  Then you know that you are not pointing to the right place the file is stored.  Other than that, I would say to check your RDD.

Hope this helps!

Has anyone had any luck with this?  I setup my test server to 10.0.700.4 and it was working perfectly fine with crystal, upgraded to 10.1.400 and this no longer works.  Loaded the xml to the crystal report to update the tables and it keeps saying COMPLETE but does not generate the report.  XML is loaded with the correct data.  I tried moving the location around and changing the report style path with no luck.

You need to move your reports to C:\EpicorData\CustomReports

I've tried that.  Maybe I've got the wrong path on the report style?  What is your path for the file in the report style for your reports?

If you move them to the location Rob indicated, then the path stays the same as it was by default in 9. If you put the custom reports somewhere other than the default location in 9 then Robs suggestion would not work.

That's strange.  Once I upgraded to 10.1.400.13 everything was working again.
