Territories in conjunction with the Work Force should be able to accomplish what you are looking for. The security aspect is handled by the Work Force setups. This true for 8.03 and 9. Of course if security is critical testing of the setups need to be done prior to providing access.

Subject: [Vantage] Can Sales Territories help with this?
Â
Hello,
We were originally going to use sales territories in Epicor as a means
to build boundaries around what a sales rep could see in Epicor when
they logged in.
For example, only be able to see the customers assigned to their
territories and the associated quotes and orders.
We never verified that this was true but decided to bail on the use of
territories because we felt our territory rules were too complex to
manage, so now all we have is just one territory for all customers.
We now have a need to allow an outside sales agency company, that sells
some of our product, into our Epicor system so that they can create
quotes in Epicor.
The issue is that they are also a competitor for other product lines
that we have.
So, they need to be able to create quotes and open quotes that they have
created but not be able to view any other quotes that we have created.
Also, from the quote entry screen, you can click the customer button to
search for customers and they would need to be restricted to only
"their" customers.
Does this sound like something that sales territories can do? It needs
to be a rock solid solution because it would be detrimental if the
outside company was able to see data not related to them.
Thanks for any suggestions.
