v8.03.407A Sales Territories Issue

That is correct, unless you select "see all territories" check box.
Then you can see all the territories.
This is a great feature if you are working with a large sales force that
only want's to see their customers.

We are on the same version and use multiple territories. Check the
"workforce" (salesperson/s)linked to the territory.
The workforce has "authorized users". Authorized users determine access to
see customers by territory.

If you are on only one workforce as an authorized user, you can only only
see customers related to the associated territory.

Presently, we do not make use of the "Sales Territories" functions in
Vantage, so none exist.

When I added a "Sales Territory," I was not able to search for any
customers - none would show up in the results list.

If I accessed a customer and assigned them to the newly created
territory, only that customer would appear in the search results - none
of the others (ones with no territory assigned) would be displayed in
the results list. If I deleted the territory completely, searches would
work properly again.

Has anyone else seen this behavior?

I have not looked at this in a long while.

Seems we had some similar behavior when we first "turned on" CRM after original live date. Some customers would just not show up.

We had to set up the territory params and then run a routine, like calculate terrorty, or something like that from one of the CRM menus.

Not at a system now, so memory is vague.

This is a CRM security feature. It overides all other Vantage security settings. If CRM is turned on and a customer is assigned to a territory, then only a Authorized User attached to a Work Force ID with access to that territory can view anything in the Customer Table for that customer. We use CRM and Territories, but want all users to have access to all customer information. So what we do is set up a Work Force ID for each Vantage User, select "View all Territories" for that ID, Then add the Vantage user as a DefaultUser to that Work Force ID. Problem Solved.
