Change the picklist report / shipping instructions / Custome re

Thank you for the direction I was able to get one of my reports up
and running from within vantage.

While setting up the link it asked what level of secuity I wanted.
The choices were many. How do i know what level of security I need to
assign?

builder and have no experience in crystal reports. I do see the
picklist forms in the user forms directory though. How do i edit a
user form?

In order entery where can we add special shipping instuctions at the
time the order is entered?

How can I get the special shipping instructions printed on the picklist?

How do i get a report to display in vanatge in one of the report
subfolders? I have attempted to use The Master File Maintenance Custom
Reports link following attributes of a report that was done some time
ago with no success.

I can only reply to your last question. After you add the Report Builder to
the Custom Reports Link, you need to go to the Menu Structure Maintenance
(Under System Management/Utilities). Drop down your tree view to where you
want to add the Custom Report and Edit Add to add it. Make sure your Menu
ID begins with UD for User Defined. Follow through the on location and
security you desire, then under Program, select Custom Report Link and then
search for the Report ID you created in Custom Reports. This will place
your Report Builder Report onto the Vantage Menu for security based user
access.

I'll hit the first question...
Although we don't use any picklists there does appear to be a job pick list Crystal Report in Userfiles (jobpickl.rpt). Anything ending in .PRL is a Report Builder library and would not be a standard Vantage report. The Job Picklist report can be set in "Report Styles" (under configuration maintenance) to be either the Progress version or the Crystal version. The Crystal version (as note above) you can alter if you have Crystal Reports developer. By virtue of the "asking" I am suspecting you don't or perhaps do but not a lot of experience with Crystal Reports. In which case the other thread about Crystal education (even for version 8.5 with Vantage 6.1) might be useful.

But feel free to ask more specific questions on the list too!

PS before altering any standard report in "userfiles" copy the original as something like "jobpickl.rpt-orig" just incase you ever need to go back.

For the special shipping instructions from the order.....

On the sale order line the COmments button at the bottom....
..you can set these comments sales order, picklist/job, packing slip or invoice. OR hit the Duplicatee Comments button to set ALL four to the same text. I believet this should show them where you need them.

You can add reports entered in "File Maintenance Customer Reports" to the
Vantage menu structure report folders using. "Menu Structure Maintenance".
