Chart tracker and Journal tracker not putting the customer name in the Journal Transaction field anymore

Hello,

We just moved up from 10.1.500.23 to 10.2.700.4 and it looks like the chart tracker and journal tracker changed how they fill in the Journal Transaction field.

In the older version, it would append the customer name after the description.

In the newer version, it looks lie they append the field description instead.

It seems to be specifically happening for ‘Adjustments Journal’ and ‘Cash Receipts Journal’ types. if that helps.

Is there a way to get the customer name back in the journal transaction field or add a column with the customer name in it?

All help is appreciated.

Thanks,

Shawn

Does anybody out there have any ideas?

Any input would be a great help.

Thanks,

Shawn

I believe the posting rules for several transactions were modified to standardize the descriptions.

You can revert/change this by customizing the posting rule and changing the “Transaction Text” in the posting rule for Journal Details.

@Jonathan
That sounds good but how do I know what posting rule to change?

It depends on the type of transaction associated with the journal.
For example for Cash Receipts it would be the AR Payment posting rule.

If you are proficient with BAQs you could join the TranGLC table with the ACT tables to find the exact GL Transaction Type name.

Hey, Just wanted to put on here that support pointed me to a couple of KB articles that showed how to fix.
