I agree, I know this was the only list I was on when he originally contacted me and I told him on the phone not to contact me because the mail he sent me had no return address and it put me in an “odd†position here at work. When I forget to take my contact info off my posts, it starts again. I do have the emails from a year ago when I told him to stop and I wasn’t my normal nice self.
There are other consultants on this list that have been unbelievably helpful on/off the list. I don’t think they should be punished for this one rude person. I have been on this list for many years and he is the only one I have ever had issue with.

I think it’s more about Jim’s personal history on this group not so much this one incident.

Personally, I don’t get why everyone is getting so wound up about this. One more piece of SPAM out of all I get in a day (and yes, I use SPAM filters) isn’t going to make a difference. If you don’t want it, flag it as junk and you’re done.
And there are other ways consultants can get lists of Epicor users w/o mining this group.

In response to the recent spamming…..
I know most of the consultants on this group have high morals and standards when conducting business. I know all of us appreciate the time the consultants put into helping us out on this list for free.
We already have the standard rule when consultants advertise on list. The question is: What do you guys want to do when it happens off list?
Once it happens off list there really is not much I can do because they have already ‘mined’ the list for everyone’s names. I wish I could “hide†everyone’s names from each other on yahoo groups itself but I cannot.
Remember, you can always “unsubscribe†from someone’s mailing list, or just block their domain from ever receiving their emails from anyone at that company. Yes it is extreme but it is your choice.
Also remember we do not know for sure where he got his list from. He could have gotten it from us, from the Epicor group and / or from Insights. The only way we know for sure the names were taking from this list is if someone got this spam mail because this is the ONLY list they are on.
I leave it up to you guys to decide what to do when a consultant goes rogue. I am up for all suggestions from all of you, and as far as the owner is concerned we can ban them.

Are you guys sure it is someone from PrakticTek? I have not gotten any and want to make sure I handle it with the “right†person. Please let me know – OFF LIST – who this is. You can even forward me the email if you want.
Email address is: manasa.reddy@...
For those of you who are new to the list, consultants are not supposed to “take†the names from the group and then start advertising. But mostly they are not to advertise on the list. If you advertise on list you are warned once and then the second time I just ban you. Off list has always been a sticky area. But I am up for options from the group (and the consultants are allowed an opinion on this as well).
Thanks!

I have sent him SEVERAL emails requesting to be removed from his list. He has even Snail-mail accosted me. Quite the irritant.

Is anyone else getting email spammed from an Independent consultant
"Professional Epicor services provider"?
I think they are mining the list for this.
