We would like to be able to control materials at revision level. So for example, we have part ref. TOPLEVEL1 and we would like that part to consume MATERIAL1 Rev 1. But on TOPLEVEL2 we would like MATERIAL1 Rev 2 to be consumed. It doesn’t seem this is the way Epicor works which is very surprising. Can anyone offer any possible solutions for this?
If revision is super important to your organization then you’re saying that revision changes the form, fit, or function of the part which means you should add the revision to your part number. That way you can have inventory, MRP demand, etc. by revision too. You could use Part Substitution to provide the information to consume previous revs where applicable.
