Costs after Shipment

It's all governed by job Closing. If the job is closed, no matter which period you incur further costs for that job, they will no longer be accepted against that job.

This is straight out of the help..

A closed job is completely finished and costed. You cannot post costs against it, but you can keep the job record as long as you need to review it. Typically, the Accounting Department closes a job after its financial transactions are audited. Closed jobs no longer display on various sheets and reports. They cannot be used in transactions or adjustments either.
If for some reason the job is no longer considered complete or closed, you can clear the Complete and Closed check boxes in this program to remove either status.
Note: You can review, add, edit, or delete memos for the current job. To do this, select Memo from the Actions menu, or click the Memo button on the Standard toolbar.

HTH..

Subject: [Vantage] Costs after Shipment

Has anyone run into senerios like this below, and if so have documentation of the logic Epicor uses?

If we ship a job on 12/27/12, then on 1/2/13 a part is issued to that job. In some cases cost of goods sold will be increased for that part in December, not January and a credit is left in WIP for December. I think it only happens if the job is closed in January using a 12/31/12, and capture then run for 12/31/12.

Thank you ,
