I thought I'd let the group know how I (not Epicor) fixed my "file not
found" problem. We've been modifying reports, adding report styles since day
1, without a problem, so this one really baffled me.
Those of you that add report styles know that there is a "search/pull down"
button to find the file you want to add. This button allows you to select a
file/path that has more characters in it than the "window" will display. In
the course of modifying our report, we added additional characters to the
report name. I stumbled onto the resolution when I tried to re-point to the
same file (no changes made) already added to report styles, and got a "file
not found" error. How can that be, the file is still there, still the same
name? It seems that the point to the file is looking only for the
characters visible in the window, and not the complete name/path that was
added, hence it's looking for a truncated file name - which obviously
doesn't exist.
I changed the name of my report to one that displays entirely within the
window, and now it works fine.
By the way, Epicor has had my call open for a week, with no resolution. I
called them this morning to tell them what fixed the problem, and it was
almost as if they were in denial. That couldn't have been the problem - it
must have been something else I was doing wrong. They won't get a good
grade on the survey they send me.
