Crystal Reports seminar at Perspectives

The classes were on version 10 and I got the feeling that this version
was the only one compatible with "V8". The classes were basic but we got
to play around with XML. The editing process in V8 using Crystal 10 will
also be different than what we are used to in 6.1.

I attended all the crystal they had, Steve Weiland did a great job. They
were based on crystal 10. My main concerts were moving a ton of report
builder reports to crystal and how do I create a template report for the
company, do joins, outerjoins, alias joins, how do I secure them on the
vantage menu and distribute them to users. Also run time changes to date
ranges and etc like changing report builder filters on the fly. All my basic
question were answered. Now I'm waiting for GA on Sonoma to start testing.

Everything is based on a Special Epicor version of Crystal 10 Pro. This
version has some dll's from the Enterprise version that all distribution.
The price is supposed to be standard for the Pro version. They also stated
that if you want to Customize standard forms you will need their version.
They also highly recommended to NOT migrate forms but do new customization
of an V8 form. Placement into a Vantage menu is very similar to adding an
RB (same security screen from Menu Structure Maintenance) report.

All of our fears of CAL's be required have been relieved.

I thought the classes were pretty good it was only 2 hours. I really
recommend the 2 day class for crystal it is great.
