This problem has caused us some grief, so I thought I'd post what we found. We're on Epicor 9.04.506C - But I beleive some garbage data was created at an earlier version of Vantage 8.xx.
CustBillTo.BTCustnum – contains invalid data – it contains a number that does not exist with a Customer.custnum.
Company Custbillto.custnum Custbillto.btcustnum

In the example above CustBillto.btcustnum = 15000 – however that customer.custnum does not exist for company xx .
I believe this came from the multi-company process. the data is in the secondary company – but came from the owning company's BTCustnum. I have verified these records existed in an older version of Vantage 8.xx. So I'm not sure what version of Vantage 8.xx created these records (or if still a problem in Epicor 9.04) .
DMT could not be used to fix this because you need to enter the CUSTID and BTCUSTID (which is invalid) .
We deleted these CUSTBILLTO records and things seem to be working.
