Deletion of Completed Job

Hello everyone,
I need to delete the Completed Job. because it was not actually produced.
But the following message pops up. I think it’s probably related to Serial.
In this case, how do I delete this job?

You can’t do this… use job adjustment to adjust everything to zero and close the job.

Once a job has any material or labor transactions, it cannot be deleted.

This message appears in Job Closing, how should I handle this message?
I tried to remove the assigned Serial in Serial Number Assignment, but the message below is displayed and it is not removed.

First, exit out of Job Closing. Go into the Serial Number Assignment program, enter your Job Number, click on the Serial Number button, then move all the serial numbers out of the “Selected Serial Numbers” box on the right to the “Available Serial Numbers” box on the left. Click OK. Exit out of Serial Number Assignment. Go back into Job Closing and see if you can then close the job.

NOTE: This may inactivate these serial numbers so that they can not be reused… try this first in a TEST environment!

I tried to do that too. However, when I try to move all serial numbers from the “Selected Serial Numbers” box on the right to the “Available Serial Numbers” box on the left, I get the following message and the move fails.

Go into the Serial Number Tracker. What is the Status of these serial numbers?

All of them are WIP. Do I need to change this?

The grid shows that the Previous Status was Inventory, and the Current Status is WIP… which makes it look like they have already been received to stock and then returned back onto the job… meaning that a transaction has already occurred and therefore this serial number cannot be deleted or removed.

So, is there any other way to delete this Job?
My issue is that this open job is causing the PO suggestion to occur.

I’m guessing here…

Is this a rework job (the job number starts with RWK)? Are the parts on the job returned parts that came back on RMA for rework, were received to stock, and then issued to this job?

If so, can you return them (using Return Material) to stock, which will take them off the job? If you can, then you may be able to close the job since the serial numbers are no longer assigned to it. At that point you’d probably need to do something to those back-in-inventory serial numbers.

@pilio.lee There is NO Deletion of pretty much anything once there is a dependent transaction. You can close the job or you can mark the material issued complete to stop suggestions.

This is a rework job. As you can see in the transaction history below, we started a job with this Job (RWKCDASM01), but this Job ((RWKCDASM01) needs to be destroyed because someone else finished it with another Job (R109CDASM01).
But, since the Serial is already assigned, it cannot be deleted or closed.

There will be no perfectly clean way to do this.

Ignoring for the moment the open jobs, what do you want to have happen with the serial numbers? Are those still valid parts that you need to be able to transact again?

These parts are valid parts. But I don’t want this Job to be deleted or any more impact on PO suggestions.

Can you un-issue (Return Material) the serialized parts to Inventory? Right now they are “trapped” in WIP, so your first priority should be to clean out the job as much as you can.

Return Material does not work. like the message below. It’s the same if I enter the quantity as just 1.
As you can see from the transaction history, it has already been returned. It’s strange that these serials still remain as WIPs in this job.
