Epicor 9 clients not able to close program

We get this quite regularly in E9. We sometimes get it where it asks us to save changes, even though you only have the main screen open.

If you right click on System Monitor in your icon tray and choose Exit, you should be able to close it straight away.

I'll get the same thing happen but I am on 6.0. My one constant I have seen
is that it happens on my Vista and W7 machines. Mostly the W7 machines.
I'll have to go into the task manager and kill the prowin32.exe process.

We have seen this problem in 8.03 since day one. The only fix we ever found is the same one you mentioned, exit the system monitor.

We have had this same problem intermittently and, so far, only on two
clients. Usually must use Task Manager on client to end task and then use
Admin Console on server to delete suspended session there. However, one
time was able to close System Monitor on client and then was able to close
Epicor session.



Gives new meaning to the phrase "run persistently", doesn't it.

You might try turning off the session manager in the .mfgsys file. Just set it to disabled. It is not needed.

We have seen this problem all the way back to 8.03.305K. It happens more for people who leave vantage open through the night. People who close the client and shut down the machine on a daily basis dont have the problem as much.
