Hi All,

has anyone got any experience using a 3rd party Transport client with Epicor Kinetic? A breif Scope below

Transport Parameters
We have 14 HGV’s and 40 trailers.

We make approximately 100 loads per week on average, consisting of multiple drops of varying number. We have approximately 125 sales orders per day booked. Some of the loads in this number will count as “collections” where we are using 3PL.

We have approximately 400 active delivery addresses in the UK used regularly, but will also deliver directly to site using the HGV’s where suitable.

We will have up to 10 users using this system (depending upon process realignment) in the office for planning. We will have up to 15 drivers using the system on the books at any one time.

High level statement of requirements

Priority functionality – Business Critical

  • Route planning, scheduling, and optimization
  • Integration into Epicor Kinetic ERP (potentially using Workato API (being implemented with ERP))
  • Load planning
    • Ideally 3D volumetric planning

Secondary functionality – to be implemented with or directly after initial deployment

  • Fleet Management
  • Electronic proof of delivery
  • Live customer updates/route completion tracking

Desired goals:

  • Seamless creation, scheduling, and assigning of deliveries in a single system for fast and accurate work planning
  • Automated route planning, scheduling, and optimization suggestions
  • Automated load planning and optimization suggestions
  • Provide the necessary data to execute deliveries and collections using our vehicles
  • Provide the necessary tools to execute deliveries and collection using our vehicles
  • Work with or have software for execution of delivery (such as routes and signature collection, and allow for dynamic re-routing)
  • Provide the necessary control and management to schedule external transport activities (third party transport such as DHL/DPD)
  • Provide data to allow invoicing at point of delivery
  • Cater for multi-day loads
  • Ensuring vehicle compliance
  • Driver management (capability and availability)
  • Digitized collection of delivery data
  • Real-time visibility of delivery or collection status/completion for our vehicles
