Now you struck a cord...
Where exactly does the money go if it's "Non-Profit"? I have been a member
of a couple different local user groups and have had much less expensive
dues that go to providing meeting space and lunches for 4 meetings a year.
Does the EUG meet? What exactly other than a discount to Perspectives and
apparently a voice do you get for the money? I have heard about EUG over
the years, but never any details. Can someone fill me in on what the money
pays for?
Obviously I would not leave this list for love nor money, but if there was
benefit of being on this list and part of EUG and I felt like I knew the
money was being spent in my best interest, I might be interested in having a
membership in EUG as well.
Can anyone fill me in on the details of what the group actually does?

For the record - $ 360/yr due on Jan 1st of EACH year.
The EUG is a "Non-Profit" group.
Let's see - 1,179 members times $ 360/yr for dues = $ 424,440/yr or $
2,122,200 over a 5-year window.
Yup, I bet they do want all of us to join ...

If we all paid to join EUG then EPICOR would be happy to use THAT list to
work with all of us?
As opposed to the current situation where we have a ton of EPICOR employees
on the list that monitor the traffic while they are TOLD that they are not
allowed to post BECAUSE this is not an "Official" list?
At one point the argument by EPICOR for not posting on this list was that
Vantage customer's pay money for maintenance so they CAN call tech support.
Participating in dialogue on this list would be contrary to that arrangement
..
So I'll post it to the entire group - would you like to dissolve this list
and pay for membership to the EUG so you can participate in an "Official"
EPICOR user's group as opposed to this sometimes irrelevant, odd, peculiar
group?
Do you like having a list that is independent of EPICOR?
