R-Studio has been an exceptional tool for recovering deleted files (FAT12/16/32, NTFS, NTFS5 (created or updated by Windows 2000) and Ext2FS (LINUX file system) partitions.) from local and remote file systems.
If you're having boot sector/MBR problems most support sites (Dell, HP, Gateway) give you the lame "you'll have to reformat" easy way out.
However a simple fdisk /mbr often fixes the problem (replaces/restores the master boot record "MBR").
But for file recovery r-studio is excellent!!

Best of my knowledge, nope, once you reformat it's gone ...

Hello:
Just want to make sure I'm not telling a lie: one of my users has
reformatted his hard drive. Is there any freeware/shareware that will allow
us to recover the files (mostly word & excel) that are now "lost?"
We won't discuss the punishment for this crime.
Thanks,
Lydia
