Did you do the updates outlined in appendix C of the guide? I just re-read
it, and it does not (!) give the full instructions on updating forms. In
addition to what it says there, you need to open each report you have
modified in Crystal, and do a Database / Verify Database operation on it,
and save it. Some of the field names and sizes are changed, and this "re
syncs" the report with the data structure. Should fix your errors right away.

But... to really do it right, you should start over with the stock 4.0
form, and re-do your mods from there. Some of the forms, particularly the
PO have some major changes to the .DBF files and you might not be printing
correct data (the misc charges on POs come to mind.) I'd kept some notes
in the Crystal summary info about my mods, but went back and thoroughly
compared my form to the 3.0 ones, took GOOD notes this time, then changed
the 4.0 forms.

In some cases, you actually had to go into the reports and point to the new database names. Secondly, there were enough changes in some tables, that some reports won't work, specifically those looking at some of the Part tables, ie. partbin has moved. I actually went to almost every report and changed the database names. I've seen 'em run without that change. Also, links between jobs and orders are different.

Subject: [Vantage] HELP!! ProWin32 errors

Good Morning to All,

But Help !!! We installed Vantage 4.0 last night. Specifically:

Vantage 4.00.812
Progress 9.0 B Patch 29
Crystal Reports version 7.0.0.0
Server: NTSBS 4.0 sevice pack 6A

I know this is an old problem but I lost the cure. When we try to print
custom reports we are getting PROWIN32 errors. The problem seems to be
almost global.

Is ther a doctor in the house? We need some medicine.

Thanks,

Wayne

We no longer allow attachments to files. To access/share Report Files, please go to the following link: http://www.egroups.com/files/vantage/
(Note: If this link does not work for you the first time you try it, go to www.egroups.com, login and be sure to save your password, choose My Groups, choose Vantage, then choose Files. If you save the password, the link above will work the next time you try it.)

Make sure the reports are pointing to the right location. Check to make sure
what specific report is called. Make sure reports are saved as Crystal 7.0 Call
support, they fix this stuff in their sleep.

Wayne,

Report Builder reports seem to work fine. The problem is with Crystal
Custom forms. This is affecting us only that we can't print:

Purchase Orders
Invoices
Packing Slips
Quotations
Shop Travelers

Otherwise all is right with the world. We did install 4.0 back in February
to run some beta testing on it and everything worked just fine. Now with
the latest patches it doesn't seem to work.

We are having some problems connecting Crystal Reports to the data base
with the ODBC broker. My partner in crime (Norm Watkins) seems to think
that may be the key. If so any tips on that problem would be a help.

Is this with your own report builder things, or the Crystal custom forms,
or Progress-style standard reports? The conversion topics in the
appendices of the installation guide probably have your solution, but if
you could be more specific, I've probably seen it...

Wayne,

Have you tried updating the crystal dll's to vantage?
